"Peace is not the absence of conflict but the presence of creative alternatives for responding to conflict -- alternatives to passive or aggressive responses, alternatives to violence." - Dorothy Thompson

Life is never without some form of disagreement, whether it’s with a person or a group. But sometimes these disagreements can become conflicts, and conflicts can sometimes become violent. People in conflict situations need a way to resolve the conflict, and restore peace.

Some of us may also experience harm or violence as a result of a crime. Both the victim and the offender need a way to deal with the consequences of crime. Justice needs to be restored.

The Mediation and Restorative Justice Centre helps people with these needs. We provide mediation services to people and groups in conflict, and restorative justice services to victims and offenders. We offer these services free of charge to anyone in the greater Edmonton region, located in Alberta, Canada
